Working Capital opened its doors in 1997 to
provide pension and benefit fund trustees with
educational opportunities not available elsewhere.
The Center has developed its curriculum with the
oversight of an international
board of directors
composed of public officials, trustees, academics
and members of union movements. This unique blend
of leadership gives the Center its edge in
understanding both the needs of trustees and the
technical requirements of effective pension fund
management.

The International Foundation of Employee Benefit
Plans is the largest educational association
serving the employee benefits and compensation
industry. For almost 50 years, the International
Foundation has served as the premier source of

Groups and Services
The Council of
Institutional Investors is an organization of
large public, Taft-Hartley, and corporate pension
funds, which seeks to address investment issues
that affect the size or security of plan assets.
Its objectives are to encourage member funds, as
major shareholders, to take an active role in
protecting plan assets and to help members
increase return on their investments as part of
their fiduciary obligations.
Founded in 1985 in
response to controversial takeover activities that
threatened the financial interests of pension fund
beneficiaries, the group began with 20 member
funds. Today the Council has over 120 pension fund
members whose assets exceed $1 trillion, and more
than 100 honorary international participants and
educational sustainers. It is recognized as a
significant voice for institutional shareholder
interests.
Fund Democracy is
the leading voice for mutual fund shareholders.
It has spoken out on mutual fund issues in
financial publications such as TheStreet.com,
Barron's, SmartMoney.com and others. Fund
Democracy also has engaged in a number of
advocacy initiatives on behalf of mutual fund
shareholders.

Shareholder Services is a provider of proxy voting
and corporate governance services, serving more than
950 clients worldwide. ISS analysts research and
recommend votes for 20,000 shareholder meetings each

Monitor, the industry’s second leading proxy
services firm, was merged into ISS in July 2001.
