Learn About the Teamsters Union

America’s youth and the quality of our education systems are the backbone of America’s future. Developing a strong connection between students, our local unions, educators and the world of work is important to the Teamsters Union. We want to help young people find good jobs in high wage, high growth industries, and we want you to learn more about the Teamsters Union.

Learn more about the Teamsters Union's rich history and the strong-willed men and women who have built this union in The Teamster Century. Find out everything you need to know about the union's structure and demographics. Interested in learning what an arbitration or a white paper contract is? Our Union Glossary will provide you with dozens of definitions for common labor terms.

If you're the daughter or son of a Teamster member, you are eligible to apply for the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship. We also provide links to other union scholarship resources that can help make paying for college a little easier.

The 2007 James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Essay Contest is now open to students currently attending an institution of higher learning. The deadline for receiving applications for this contest is September 30, 2007.

There are many more resources available here, as well as throughout the Teamster web site. We encourage you to explore, read, learn, and interact with us as you discover what makes the Teamsters the world's most powerful labor union!
